The past two cycles have brought with them miserable weekends with - let's just say it - PAINFUL Friday nights and Saturdays. End up getting completely wiped out and takes days longer to bounce back. Everyone confused about cause or prevention, so kind of crossing my fingers on this next one (Wednesday). After next week's treatment (round 26) I'll go for the follow-up scan of the sternum. Our goal is staibility, or preferably reduction/elimination. Any of those should be acceptable outcomes for the surgeon. It's possible that two week from now we'll finally know whether surgery is possible, and when. Optimistic as always. Also possible that if surgery is a go, then I'll get a good month break from chemo. In the meantime - gonna power through round 26 and keep a positive attitude.
Fighting on...
Hi, Mark... Debbie and I are up in northern Utah, in the Cache Valley, looking for a place to live. One house we looked at was owned by a couple moving to San Diego to get close to treatment (for the wife) at the same place you're using - same surgeon, too. By appearance she's in her 50s, with Stage 4 colon cancer that has metastasized to her liver. She's on a rough chemo regimen (we didn't inquire about the details), but has remarkably good spirits. Talking with her reminded me of you - she's got the same determination to fight and to get that %^*#$^@#(*&@ cancer out of her...
